Theft of monuments and attempts to change the demographics in Afrin The Turkish army and militias have excavated more than 50 historical monuments and religious shrines and transported more than 20,000 pieces of archaeological objects to Turkey, Human Rights Watch said. There are many historical sites in Afrin, in addition to Hori Castle, Saman Castle, Dudri Cave, Marmaron Church and dozens of other places have about 25 historical hills, most of which are lined along the Afrin River and date back to 2000 BC. According to archaeological activists, the archaeological fragments of Jundres Hill, Nabi Hori Castle, Saman Castle and Du Dari Cave have been stolen by militia groups and Turkey. Turkey has done the same thing in the past in North Kurdistan to change the history and demographics.
